Good legal help should not depend on what is left in the checking account. Our Legal Aid Map gathers free and low-cost legal aid offices in one place, organized by state, at mentalhealthmoves.com/legalaid.

What the map shows

• Legal aid offices across all fifty states and DC, including legal aid societies, law school programs, and volunteer lawyer projects.
• Each office's address, phone, and website, with one tap to call or get directions.
• A "use my location" option that lists the offices nearest you, ranked by distance.

How to use it well

Call before you go, because intake rules change and waitlists are common. Ask two questions up front: whether they handle your county, and how long the current wait is. If the wait is long, get on the list anyway and keep gathering your documents in the meantime.

The map grows as we verify new offices. If you know one we are missing, tell us and we will check it out.
