The Co-Parenting Schedule Templates Nobody Hands You
Custody schedules have names like 2-2-3 and week-on week-off, and nobody hands you a calendar that shows what they feel like to live. These templates do.
The common splits, laid out
- 2-2-3: short stretches, frequent exchanges, no one goes long without seeing the kids.
- 2-2-5-5: the same weekdays each week, which makes activities and homework routines steadier for the kids.
- Week on, week off: fewer exchanges, longer stretches, often better for teens.
How to use the templates
Print the split you are considering and live with it on the fridge for two weeks before you commit to it in writing. Mark the exchange days, then look at them next to the kids' practices, therapy, and school events. The calendar will tell you things a description cannot.
Every family's version ends up a little custom, and that is the point. The template is a starting place, not a verdict.
